Slats of Teak, Iroko, Mahogany

Since  the first wooden decks were born on boats, mainly the famous TEAK, IROKO and MAHOGANY have been used for that, although there are others made with other types of wood such as Larch, Oak, Doussie, Okumè, Ipe, etc. etc., especially on boats less valuable.

The TEAK  with its natural oil inside and its shiny blonde color is definitely the "king of woods" for outside ... and that is due to these great potentialities it is the most expensive natural material for the construction of the deckings!

Just under there are IROKO and MAHOGANY which are definitely not at the level of the  "KING" but they are very durable and pleasant; Iroko’s wood, when just cut, is yellow-gold color , and oxidising is inclined to become coffee-colored, (although slightly lighter), while the Mahogany has the classic “terracotta “color and oxidizing is inclined to become almost as teak, gray-white. But they need a light additional maintenance compared to teak, especially of a pairs of oiling more each season, being more dried respect to teak wood.

The best feature is that they cost less than the Teak (Iroko about 30% less and Mahogany approximately 50% less), for this reason they are particularly suitable for medium-small size works and quality !!!

For all those who want to try on the construction of their own deck in Teak, Iroko, Mahogany, or replace some "staves" cracked, we also provide strips of the right measure and ready to use.

All the staves can be requested with or without caulking (channel for gumming) of any length, width and thickness and are sold singularly  or even per linear meter !!!
It is also possible to find on request, trimmed boards, morals, and strips that can be used to obtain any part for your boat as waterways  , handrails, rudders, various frames ...
Also available in other types of wood for interior and external as Oak, Cherry, Doussiè, Wenge, Ebony, Ipe, Massaranduba, Beech, Ash.

The staves classified as "A" qualiy  are coming from carefully selected logs, free from “eye-catching” defects, such as knots and veinwood of important dimensions, fissures, cracks, stains and worm holes!
The logs are sawn, reassembled and places to 'open air where they have an initial natural aging process, on request you can have also an artificial aging using special dryer ovens , which carry the' wood moisture to the average moisture content of 13-15 % as prescribed by RINA (Italian Register of  Sailing).
From these cut logs into quarters or ring roads, the much requested staves for deckings are coming out, from yellow-gold paiste, striped but not too strong, with straight grain and uniform as much as possible.
As for the logs Teak, Iroko and Mahogany even those are cut and placed to 'open air where they have an initial natural aging process, on request you can  have also an aging process made through special dryer ovens , which carry the' wood moisture the average moisture content of 13/15% as prescribed by RI.N.A.
